Dr Hanky Sereo is a scholar of African History, currently serving as the Head of the Department of History at the University of Eswatini, where he also holds the position of Lecturer. His academic work is situated within the field of Political History, with a specialized focus on Pro-democracy and Liberation Movements. His research critically examines the Social and Political struggles that have shaped the nation, delving into the historical fight for democratic governance, civil rights, and broader political participation in Eswatini. Through his work, he seeks to illuminate the complex narratives of resistance and the enduring quest for political change in the kingdom. As both an academic leader and a dedicated researcher, Dr Sereo is committed to fostering a deeper understanding of Eswatini’s dynamic political history and mentoring future historians.
